We had SO MUCH FUN trick-or-treating this year!!! Last year, Max wanted nothing to do with it, and this year was a totally different story. After every house, he asked, "Can we go to another house now?" When Lance and I said, "Yes," he would jump up and down and say, "Yay, yay, yay!" It was wonderful to see him so purely joyful. At each house, he said to the person handing out the candy, "Trick-or-treat," "May the force be with you," and "thank you." :-) Super-precious. But my favorite comment of the night came after Max got his costume sticky from a lollipop he was eating along the way. I said, "Ew, you are all sticky!" When we got to the next house, he told the lady there, "I'm dressed up as sticky yoda!" Sooooo cute and priceless. Some of the houses in our neighborhood were really decked out. One of them is owned by a colleague of Lance's, Scott Mahon, who was dressed up as Death Personified. When we go to his house, he stood totally still like a statue, so we thought he really was just a fake person that they bought from Party City or somewhere like it. Finally, Lance asked, "Is Scott home yet?" All of a sudden, the statue of Death Personified moved his hand ever-so-slightly to wave hello, and he whispered under his breath, "I'm saving your child many horrors..." BUT, it was too late! Max was pretty scared, and after we left there, he asked at EVERY SINGLE HOUSE, "Is the scary man going to be there?" or "Is this the scary man's house?" Despite that, he had a thrilling night, and we were out until after 9 pm!!!
Here is Yoda all ready to leave the house for trick-or-treating
His first piece of candy!
Max was the sweetest, cutest little Yoda. He was at the perfect age for Halloween--still so innocent and entralled with the whole scene, yet brave enough to approach the homeowners to say "trick-or-treat" and pick out a piece of candy. It was just adorable!
Here he is walking up to "the scary man's" house...
This is the inside of "the scary man's" house--"the scary man" is on the right standing up and waving
Max and Lance getting back into the golf cart to go to the next house
This house was incredible!! They had a two story blow-up cat, the legs of which we had to walk under in order to get to the front door! It was so cool.
This guy was sitting outside of his house playing guitar and handing out candy. He serenaded us with a Cold Play song upon request. It was awesome! Max enjoyed listening to it and watching him play.
