Then all of the fun came to a screeching halt when Max woke up with a low-grade fever one Monday morning. It turns out that he had strep throat. Unfortunately, he caught a virus on top of the strep throat, so he was such a miserable little guy. Max missed almost two weeks of school and extra-curricular activities :-( In addition to Fun Bus, Play Ball, and Coach Todd's sports class, we were supposed to attend our friend Jack's birthday party and go to the Wild Animal Safari in Pilot Mountain, GA with Aunt Kelly and Uncle Gabe. It's such a bummer to cancel fun plans, but we are glad Max is finally feeling back to himself, and we are looking forward to all of the great times that October will hold!
After dinner on night with Papa and Da--such a happy picture of them all!
The Dasher Boys (minus Beausie!)
Here I am up on the wall, trying to buy myself a few much-needed inches, begging Lance to come stand next to me so that I could look taller in the picture (instead of him standing on the wall, too, so that I look even shorter!). Below you can see how well that worked out for me--marriage is about compromise, right?!
On even ground :-)
Silly Max wearing some green dracula teeth at Stevie B's Pizza Buffet. Someone's ready for Halloween!!!
We played at our neighborhood park one beautiful late September Sunday. Here is Max climbing *up* the slide! He's gotten so adventurous and fearless lately!!
And back down again...
He paused in his play just long enough to share a hug with Daddy.
And off he goes again!
Smile for the camera!
Lance was golfing late one Friday, so Mom, Dad, and Dale met me at the club for a fun dinner! Max was in heaven because it was a beautiful evening, and he had the undivided attention of three people who spoil him most (Linda was in Ohio visiting her daughter--Gina, her son-in-law--Todd, and her grandsons--Alex and Drew). Here is Max with Sue-B on the patio overlooking the driving range.
Max asked to sit by his Papa! Here they are giving each other a good buddy hug :-)
Max was into giving hugs that night! Sugar Maury capitalized on his affectionate mood :-)
