We had so much fun when our good friends, Chris and Tiffany Newton, came to visit us from Houston with their adorable, sweet 18-month-old little boy, Noah! I hadn't seen Noah since he was 8 months old, and Lance hadn't seen him in even longer than that!! It has been almost two years since we've gotten to hang out like old times in Winston-Salem. We became friends with the Newtons right when we moved to North Carolina; we traveled with them to Puerto Rico and Hilton Head before either of us had children; and we were like family-away-from-family to each other since we didn't live close to our hometowns. We shared many a New Years Eve, Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving Day, etc., etc. together. It is hard to live so far away now and not get to see each other often at all, so we really relished this opportunity to spend quality time with close friends. The Newtons stayed with us in Atlanta from December 3rd until the 8th, and we had all sorts of exciting adventures!! Here are a few pictures from one of the highlights of the trip--the Santa brunch at St. Ives. I'll put up some other pictures of our visit with them in a separate post.
Here are Max and Lance at lunch just before we left to pick Chris, Tiff, and Noah up from the airport. It was the SEC Championship game that day, as well, so Max and Lance are dressed accordingly!
Here is NOAH!!! His curly blonde hair is so precious, and he is a really smart, fun-loving little guy.

The Newton Family
The best picture we could get of the two of them sitting still!
Max with Wilson, our wonderful, generous waiter at the club. He brought Max a Christmas present--a Lightening McQueen car with interchangeable wheels! It was SO, SO kind and thoughtful of him. Max calls him "Wils" :-)
St. Ives always does amazing ice sculptures for big events. The turkey one at Thanksgiving was beautiful, as was this incredible rendering of Santa for the Santa brunch!
When we first walked in, Max said, "Santa IS a character," and he wanted nothing to do with him. He was totally scared. Then I explained that he's not a character but rather just a man with a red outfit on. Then all of a sudden Max loved him and wanted to wave "hi" repeatedly!

I love this sweet picture of Chris and Tiff looking lovingly down at their sweet little guy! What a tender moment.
The whole crew in front of the tree!
