Blakeley and I took Max and Mia to the Georgia Aquarium on the very last day that our season pass was still good! I'm so glad we managed to squeeze it in b/c we had a great time. Max and Mia absolutely loved it, of course! Max has been to the aquarium a number of times, but he is just as enthralled every time. This was Mia's very first experience, and it was a treat to see her genuine amazement. We got to eat lunch in the ballroom where, through floor-to-ceiling windows that span an entire wall, we could watch the beluga whales swim around. It was very cool!
Here we are at the beluga whale tank. Around December, the aquarium added two more beluga whales to the tank, so now there are four of them. Depsite weighing several tons, they glide their sleek, pure white bodies through the water effortlessly and gracefully.
A funny picture that Blakeley snapped--what are those faces, Max and Mia?
Max and I are quite awe-struck by the tunnel where the huge sting rays, sharks, and fish swim all around and above.
Oh, that face! It is so precious to me.
Max and Mia could sit here and watch the activity of the "ocean" for quite a while!
Look at Mia--she is genuinely in awe of the beautiful wonders of the sea--such a priceless expression!
Here we are at the Tropical Diver section where the coral reef is teeming with beautiful, brightly colored fish.
